Welcome

Book of Shadows is my "blog" page. I thought that as well as a place for tips, recipes, ideas, subjects could be  explored from different angles.

Please feel free to contribute :-)

Thought it was about time that New Moon Enterprise had a facelift. Wow quite a job! I mentioned before Christmas that we had lots of wonderful ideas of items to add and sets to build, but before that could happen we needed to give the website an overhaul. We did a long overdue stock check, not something I usually enjoy but as I put in a previous entry, this time I did. Trying to revamp the site has been quite a job and we still haven't completed the task, so please bear with us whilst the changes are taking place.

New Moon Enterprise's customers are obviously very able as you have all managed to navigate round us working on the site as the last week has  been quite busy which is wonderful, considering many web shops go very quiet after the New year. What is great is there are not much in the way of queues at the Post Office, very different to last month.

On a very different note have you noticed how magical and beautiful the full Moon has been this month. Even when she has been shrouded in cloud she managed to look stunning. The moon has been very bright too. Have you also noticed how early some flowers are out, there are some of the strangest blooms for this time of year in my garden, more about this tomorrow.

I usually feel that New Year's Eve is a rather sad time, but not so this year. We have spent the day sorting and stock taking, not a job I normally enjoy. However this year, its been quite exciting for a few reasons.

Firstly, over the last few weeks we have been talking about the plans for New Moon Enterprise, and I couldn't wait to actually get started, but there was much to accomplish first.

Secondly, because many of New Moons products had been placed out of sight to make room in the Emporium for glii products,  it was like Yule again getting them out and rearranging every inch of available space. I feel like a child does at Christmas time, the euphoria has kept me going all day, plus the cups of tea and coffee. So look out for all the changes in the next few weeks!

I hope everyone has a safe and peaceful start to 2012, and that you will have had a great evening, however you spent it. Lots of old traditions seem to have died away, and new ones have started. When I was a little girl, my father use to go out of the back door just before midnight carrying a piece of coal and as the bells rang out to herald in the New Year, my Mother would open the front door to him.  The reasoning being that he took the departing year out with him and brought the new one in, oh and it had to be a man with dark hair! My father still does the above but alas his hair is no longer dark!

May 2012 be a wonderful year for everyone.

May I wish all New Moon Enterprise customers old and new a very blessed Yule Eve. The solstice sun will rise tomorrow and may it warm and light your way through the dark winter days.

There is always light and shade, happiness and sadness and in many way the solstices echo this. The days will slowly lengthen but there is a long way to go before new life and the earth wakes up again. All the carols and Christmas songs sing of hope and celebrations, and this is right, but there is often mixed emotions experienced at this time. Christians celebrate the birth of a babe, death has no place at this feast, but light and shade in all things, and this was brought vividly home to me today, with the news of the death of the partner of my closest friend. The wheel of life turns with the seasons.

Yule blessings
